2023 Geelong Bay City Swap Meet After a three year break it’s fair to say that there was a little uncertainty about how the Swap would go, but we need not have worried. A perfect autumn day, hundreds of stall holders and thousands of patrons lit up the Showgrounds! Around 70 members volunteered to make the event the huge success it turned out to be - fitting recognition for the efforts put in over 15 years by retiring Swap Director, Fred Harris. Thank you to all who helped make it succeed! And although we will need to approach organising the event differently in future, plans are already well underway to ensure it can go ahead again next year without Fred at the helm. So be ready to take part again in 2024 - as a volunteer, as a patron and/or as a stallholder. By spreading the load, we can do it and ensure the event remains our club’s major fund raiser and an important day in Geelong’s calendar. Photos: Lindsay Alford & Ed
